Betsy from Mars

the Richmond based songwriting project of Betsy Podsiadlo

After 10+ years of singing back up and playing fiddle in bands from California, New York, West Virginia and Virginia, Betsy Podsiadlo created Betsy from Mars to share her post apocalyptic space cowgirl music from beyond the confines of her home studio. As a background vocalist and supporting musician Betsy has performed with Peggy Watson, The Time Travelers, Junk Mountain, Edith Peach, Brookhouse, Kelsey Ryan, Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Odd Junction, Femme Fatale, as well as session musician work for Pacific Records. As a songwriter her debut EP "To Be Loved by You" released under Betsy Podsiadlo explored new love, saying goodbye to her childhood home, and the magic of what can never be. Her upcoming album, working title "Stars Burn Out" takes a different turn. Exploring themes of life under fascism, labour movements, and existentialism against the backdrop of outer space and with a flair of the Wild West

Betsy from Mars' debut show will be on April 2nd as part of Women Crush Wednesday at the Camel in Richmond, VA.
